JKO Members & families,

We’re already a few months into 2026! We have several exciting announcements for March:

- On Monday, March 9th, we’ll have our SAI, Weapons Class at 6 pm. Over the next two weeks, we plan to complete learning this Sai Kata. Each class costs $20 per participant, or you can take advantage of our new tuition plans that include the Weapons class (newly made, the Elite Membership members).

- On Saturday, March 14th, at 6 pm, our Iai-do group will perform at the Japanese Friendship Garden as part of the Cherry Blossom Festival in Balboa Park. Join us to celebrate the tradition of Hanami (Cherry blossom festival) at this annual festival from March 12th to 15th. For more information, visit niwa.org/cbw.

- Our monthly seminar series continues with Sensei Brian Hilliard hosting a Kumite seminar on Saturday, March 14th, from 2 pm to 4 pm. The Kata seminar by Hanshi, will be held on March 21st from 12:30 pm to 2 pm. Please see the attached flyer for more details.

- The Wado-Ryu Karate-Do Championship will be held on Sunday, March 22nd, at Capo Valley High School, located at 26301 Via Escolar, Mission Viejo, CA 92692. Register online at usawadoryu.com/registration/.
