Clarification on Attendance, Curriculum, and Testing Policy
Dear Students and Parents,
I would like to clarify a few important points regarding our curriculum, attendance expectations, and kyu testing.
Some students attend class only twice a week, while others attend four or five times, but all are currently being credited the same for testing eligibility. The tests have been held every three months or so.
This isn't fair or effective. More frequent attendance leads to better progress—physically, technically, and mentally.
Going forward, eligibility for kyu testing will be based not just on time, but on actual class attendance and performance quality. For lower kyu ranks, students must attend at least 30 classes, as noted in the JKO Passbook.
Tests will be scheduled accordingly, and the number of tests offered may increase to reflect student readiness.
Thank you for your understanding and support. If you have questions about your attendance or test readiness, feel free to reach out.
Sincerely,
Hanshi
